Programme Learning Outcomes
Programme Learning Outcomes for MArch (NFQ Level 9, Major Award)
On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:
- Analyse the context for an architectural project and select the most appropriate factors, whether they be occupant studies, functional requirements, socio-cultural, historical, landscape and/or economic issues on which to base an architectural response;
- Select and rigorously analyse appropriate technological precedents to inform the development of a technological framework for the major design project;
- Synthesise architectural solutions to identified design problems, with a high level of skill and inventiveness;
- Plan and implement an independent programme of work to generate designs and reports related to those designs;
- Design with respect to regulatory constraints and official guidelines.
