Candidates on the MA (Sociology of Sustainability and Global Challenges) who pass at least 30 credits of taught modules may opt to exit the programme and be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in the Sociology of Sustainability and Global Challenges.

Programme Learning Outcomes
Programme Learning Outcomes for Postgraduate Certificate in the Sociology of Sustainability and Global Challenges (NFQ Level 9, Minor Award)
On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:
- Recognise the multi-dimensional nature of many Sustainability and Global Challenges trends, issues and problems and the core connection to poverty and global inequality;
- Identify, use, evaluate and interpret information from various sources to support analysis of development and globalization trends, issues and problems;
- Develop and effectively apply sociological theories, methods and approaches in analyzing challenges in the areas of Sustainability and Global Challenges.
