The Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Social Studies is an non-professional alternative exit award for students registered on the Master of Social Work or Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work Studies who:

  • have passed all Year 1 modules on the MSW/PDSWS but choose to end their studies at that point or;
  • have successfully passed at least 60 credits of taught modules but failed a fieldwork placement element offered to candidates on the programme.

Candidates who opt to exit and graduate with Postgraduate Diploma in Applied Social Studies will not be eligible to apply to register with the Social Work Registration Board (CORU).
