On successful completion Postgraduate Certificate in Paediatrics and Child Health, students will have the opportunity to progress to the Postgraduate Diploma.
The Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatrics and Child Health is a part-time programme that runs over one academic year in addition to the Postgraduate Certificate (18 months: 9 months PG Certificate, 9 months PG Diploma). Students take taught modules to a total value of 60 credits.
All students will be registered for the Postgraduate Certificate in Paediatrics and Child Health in the first instance and will be conferred with the Postgraduate Certificate upon passing modules to the value of 30 credits.
Progression to the MSc (Paediatrics and Child Health) (NFQ Level 9, Major Award)
A student who subsequently wishes to progress to the MSc (Paediatrics and Child Health) must complete the programme within 5 academic years from the date of successful completion of the Postgraduate Diploma Examinations.

- Describe the major causes of chronic disease in children and their multidisciplinary management.
- Describe the major causes of neurodisability in children and their multidisciplinary management.
- Describe the medical management of common health issues in adolescents.
