Overview
First Year - BCL (Law and Business)
First Year consists of core modules to the value of 60 credits (35 credits Law; 25 credits Business). In order to be admitted to the First University Examination in Law and Business, a student must have satisfactorily attended prescribed modules to the value of 60 credits.
Second Year - BCL (Law and Business)
Second Year consists of core modules to the value of 60 credits (30 credits Law; 30 credits Business). In order to be admitted to the Second University Examination in Law a student must have: (a) passed the First University Examination in Law and Business; and (b) subsequently satisfactorily attended prescribed modules to the value of 60 credits.
Third Year - BCL (Law and Business)
Third Year consists of core modules to the value of 60 credits (30 credits Law; 30 credits Business). In order to be admitted to the Third University Examination in Law a student must have: (a) passed the Second University Examination in Law and Business; and (b) subsequently satisfactorily attended prescribed modules to the value of 60 credits.
Fourth Year - BCL (Law and Business)
Fourth Year consists of modules to the value of 60 credits comprising core modules to the value of 20 credits in Law and a minimum of 5 more elective credits of Law (making a total of at least 25 credits of Law) and core modules to the value of 10 credits in Business and a minimum of 10 more elective credits of Business (making a total of at least 20 credits of Business). In order to be admitted to the BCL (Law and Business) (Hons) Degree Examination, a student must have: (a) passed the Third University Examination in Law and Business; and (b) subsequently attended in a satisfactory manner prescribed modules to the value of 60 credits.
Workload Guideline
Where a programme contains elective modules it is recommended that students do not take any more than 40 credits in any semester. Students are therefore advised to choose their modules so that the workload is evenly spread throughout the year.

On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:
