BMedSc Degree
Overview
Exit Award only
Students on the MB, BCh, BAO Degrees programme who have successfully completed the Third University Examination in Medicine at the Summer and/or Autumn Examination and who do not wish to continue with their Medical studies are eligible to exit with a BMedSc (Ordinary) Degree (NFQ Level 7, Major Award).
Students who have passed the Third University Examination in Medicine, and who subsequently fail either the Fourth University Examination or Final Medicine Examination are also eligible to exit with the award of a BMedSc (Ordinary) Degree (NFQ Level 7, Major Award).

On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:

Describe and explain the basic principles of medical science (i.e. anatomy, biochemistry, physiology) at whole body, organ, tissue, cellular and sub-cellular level;

Diagnose, explain and describe the pathogenesis and natural history of selected common and paradigmatic human diseases;
