Overview
The BSc (Hons) in Paramedicine is a full-time, four-year programme.
Exit Award
Diploma in Prehospital Care (NFQ Level 7, Major Award)
Upon successful completion of modules to the value of at least 120 credits (including MD1203, MD1204, MD1205, MD1206, MD1208, MD1209, MD1210, MD2204, MD2205, MD2206, MD2207, MD2208, MD2209, MD2210 and MD2211) students may opt to exit the programme and be awarded a Diploma in Prehospital Care.

On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate an awareness of paramedical science from a multidisciplinary perspective including epidemiology, psychology and public health.
- Perform paramedic skills and techniques in a safe, efficient and effective way.
- Apply a holistic and integrated approach to paramedic practice.
- Be sensitive to contemporary issues within socially and culturally diverse communities, and prepare to respond effectively to such issues during paramedic practice.
- Examine current research and developments in paramedicine and evaluate their implications in the paramedic profession.
- Carry out a focused piece of scholarly research in the area of paramedical studies.
