MSc (Infection Prevention and Control) (online)
Overview
The MSc in Infection Prevention and Control is a progression route from the Postgraduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control.
The MSc is a 60-credit, part-time programme delivered online over one year (12 months) after successful completion of the Postgraduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control (30 credits) with a Second Class Honours Grade 1, or, a Second Class Honours Grade 1 in an NFQ, Level 9 within the last five years and which the programme team deem comparable to the UCC Postgraduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control. The programme is taken over 12 months and and comprises of 60 credits (30 credits taught and 30 credits independent enquiry). The programme is designed on a module basis to meet the needs of working professionals with students taking one taught module at a time.
Exit Award: Postgraduate Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control (NFQ Level 9, Major Award)
Upon successful completion and passing of modules to the value of at least 60 credits (including the 30 credits on the Postgraduate Certificate in Infection Prevention and Control and the 30 credits of taught modules above: EH6088, EH6148, EH6153 and EH6157) students may opt to exit the programme and be awarded a Postgraduate Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control.
Students who either fail to submit the research dissertation or fail to attain the pass standard in the dissertation in either the first or repeat year will graduate with a Postgraduate Diploma in Infection Prevention and Control.
