NFQ Level 9, Major Award

(Delivered online by distance learning)

The MA (Digital Cultures) is a full-time programme commencing in January each year. For students entering in 2023/24 the programme will commence in February 2024. The programme is delivered online by distance learning.

This is a closed recruitment programme delivered under an agreement with the Information Technology Industry Development Agency (ITIDA) Egypt for students entering under the Digital Egypt Builders Initiative (DEBI).

Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Cultures (NFQ Level 9, Minor Award)

Candidates who pass at least 30 credits of taught modules (to include DH6113) may opt to exit the programme and be awarded a Postgraduate Certificate in Digital Cultures.

Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Cultures (NFQ Level 9, Major Award)

Candidates who pass each module in Part I (60 credits) and who fail Part II or who choose not to progress to Part II and exit the programme, will be conferred with the Postgraduate Diploma in Digital Cultures.

Programme Learning Outcomes for MA in Digital Cultures (NFQ Level 9, Major Award)

On successful completion of this programme, students should be able to:

• Demonstrate an awareness of the development and the major issues and debates in Digital Culture;
  
• Demonstrate the ability to use digital tools commonly in use in the Digital Culture to capture and analyse source materials;
  
• Participate in collaborative scholarly communities using digital tools;
  
• Devise research questions which apply digital tools to arts, cultural and humanities issues;
  
• Plan and conduct research at the appropriate level for a masters qualification;
  
• Present their research in a thesis supported by relevant digital artefacts.
