Overview
The MSc (Paediatrics and Child Health) is a part-time programme that runs over 3 academic years (27 months). Students take modules to a total value of 90 credits.
All students will be registered for the Postgraduate Certificate in Paediatrics and Child Health in the first instance and will be conferred with the Postgraduate Certificate upon passing modules to the value of 30 credits. All successful students will be offered a place on the Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatrics and Child Health.
On successful completion Postgraduate Diploma in Paediatrics and Child Health, students will have the opportunity to progress to the MSc (Paediatrics and Child Health).
In the last academic year students undertake a research dissertation (30 credits) which is submitted at the end of the academic year.

- Describe the assessment and management of accidental and non-accidental injuries in children.
- Describe the steps in performing clinical research in paediatrics, from initial concept to clinical trial and publishing results.
- Describe the major causes of chronic disease in children and their multidisciplinary management.
- Describe the major causes of neurodisability in children and their multidisciplinary management.
- Describe the medical management of common health issues in adolescents.
- Apply scientific process and methodology to complete, write, and present a research project in child health.
